i have a ecu off a renault megane it contains a hc11 processor, i have tried to read it with 2 programmers capable of reading this chip, but both fail, saying unable to read. do i have to remove crystal to read this micro. thanks

Can we have more info? ECU make? MCU mask? sometime you will have to lift legs off the board.

the ecu is a siemens and numbers on it are : s111730108c. hom7700864451. b7700101920. 01694373240231-97136, processor is mc68hc11e1vfn. thanks

Try lifting the reset leg off the board.

today i read one with upa no problem
no need to lift any pin
follow the manual like hc11E9

yes i followed the manual , i had to solder 6 wires to certain points but it would not read, thanks

I have also read this MCU lots of times with UPA did you select old hc11E9 in UPA menu ?
