Hi all, been on with my DM500 C for a couple of weeks now and getting no where fast....:s:

Can the cable version of this box be flashed the same way as the sat version?

I have flashed the box as per instructions in THE TOTAL SPOONFED GUIDE FOR NEWBIES but am getting nothing exept the rss news feed.

any Prods towards a suitable Image-emu-config mix would be very welcome.

dm 500c is a cable box all it is is fta box you wont get any other channels m8,just bbc,itv and so on

why is this? i thought you get other channels with this?

You used to be able to get all channels that were available,then VM changed the encryption standard for their cable service to N3,or Nagra3,as it's called.I'm afraid that as yet N3 has proven to be totally un-crackable so all you will get are the fta channels in the uk.
If anyone does crack it i suspect VM will simply alter the alogorithm and re-scramble it,if anyone does crack it completely,it would make them a wealthy person.At the moment all you can do is watch fta OR opt for CS (but that's a banned topic here).
