we are talking about 912 motorola from 2005 on.

immed. before that it was eeprom from 2003 ish black back,

before that white back it was old processor.


dont confuse the fact that cars will communicate via obd for scanner, that doesnt mean you can do miles via obd

You mean the vw update, come on its there for decenia.
Carprog is very late with his update, some kind of logic because the tool is a multipurpose tool.
If you want a good Milleage tool, buy the real machines if you want good tools that for not tomuch money buy smok.
I bought some smok tools and for now they did what they suppose to do.

It's curious, carprog can't read any 24xx eeprom but it's capable to write them...

All clone carprogs have the same serial number, if you download the software from different sellers they are the same files.

Yes, they told me that the problem is in the software, not in hardware, I need to send it back to get a total refund or wait until a new software release. The price is cheap, not all functions works but it's easy to recover the investment.

Great to hear that but most radios and dashboards have a 24c01, 02, 04, 08, 16, 32, 64... and they can't be read with carprog clone 4.01.

I opened my Carprog clone 4.01 and found two differences with the original, two SMD capacitors are missing, I don't know the value of them and if they are needed to read the 24xx eeproms:

I haven't had much opportunity to play to much with HC's with it yet so could be ok... On the first I tried it didn't appear to work and didn't have much time to waste so used a differant tool for the job... Whilst checking for 12 volts on the blue wire I wasn't getting it so presume this was why it wasn't working....

Alfa Romeo GTV - horn fails, on the circuit board is a 0 Ohm resistor - just used as a bridge on the circuit board, these burn out.

Just working a horn relay, approx 150 MA.

in carprog you can use it as an eeprom programmer, if there is a glitch on the renault programme for example you could read the eeprom directly ..95040 for example.
I dont need to go in that direction as I have spent money to be able to do jobs like this quickly, without drama, using a more expensive tool.

Absolute normal , CarProg in 90% cases can not work from DUMP.
There is special adding adapters - dongles which give you way to do everything from DUMP which you readed with other programer or you received ...

Unfortunately the greaseball doesn't like me and he wouldn't tell me how you get them out, not that I am interested but I suppose some other greaseballs would like to know. Fortunately I grew up with the owner of the yard and get all my bits for nothing. How many do you want? Arthur.

Absolute normal , CarProg in 90% cases can not work from DUMP.
There is special adding adapters - dongles which give you way to do everything from DUMP which you readed with other programer or you received ...

Well I dont know about carprog, I only use it for airbag modules.

To be honest it never springs to mind to use it as an eeprom programmer, I tend to use upa firat.

Great to hear that but most radios and dashboards have a 24c01, 02, 04, 08, 16, 32, 64... and they can't be read with carprog clone 4.01.

I opened my Carprog clone 4.01 and found two differences with the original, two SMD capacitors are missing, I don't know the value of them and if they are needed to read the 24xx eeproms:

I was guided by color and size, when capacitors smd, and looking at old devices

removed transponder out key, tried 10 times, stuck transponder in key, sent on way.

mine is so i can look cool down the pub - as there with ANY clone AND orginal tool the risk of corrupting a control module.

I can see only first 2 nr from processor

but in soft you need to change the Sn nr in Carprog, then you can make update

ive wired it up as per diag in car prog but it just says init... attempt 1 ... 2. .... 3... then nothign
it dont display the km ?

i went into mc and slecected it amnually and still no joy
even with manual 8mhz xtal

do i use the D1 adapter with the A10 lead ?

when i did it went up to attempt 5 and on each count the relay inside clicked...

I already installed the software in another computer and the counter continues decreasing, the counter is stored in the main unit, not in the pc ( I think) not only when you write, also when read, counter decreases 1 use when you select (as example) Eeprom function and use one function (read, write, compare, erase) but if you stay in this function you can read/write another type of eeproms without counter decreasing, only one use. If you change to another function and use it the counter decrease 1. I hope I was able to explain clearly, my English is not very good, sorry.

The picture is only as example, I have UPA-USB, Xprog-m, Willem PCB50, Pony Prog interface, Masterprog, Orion programmer and a few more to read eeproms and Mcu. The purpose of buying Carprog is for Vw-Micronas but it doesn't work well...

I only use the software provided with the carprog and without Internet acces, anyway the counter starts, not inmediately, about 20 - 30 uses later, starts in 260.

Right checked and resoldered usb port, tried ews 3 again on bench, its better but no read. Before i was getting no device present or disconnection error and when you moved carprog interface it would lose comms. Now it stays connected.

USB cable arrived faulty with my carprog. Have replaced with better quality one. I tested VW airbag on bench and works ok. Read 93C66 out of circuit ok. Not working with 24C02/24C04.

24c02 fail
95160 fail
ews 3 on bench fail
bmw airbag e36 38 pin lead fail (not sure if it needs to be on bench tho)

And losing connection via usb lead, which is a pain.

Carprog original also sometimes is fail,
and sometimes is damage processors

if I remember
5, 6 airbags can not read
5,6 airbag not suport
3,4 ZGW moduls is damage with reading
BSI 3,4 with processor not read the original km, many diferent version I test
on some eeprom in ciurcit, can not adjusment the power
some radio code not have any info how to do...
and many another things
I think I dont still back the money for payment of original Full Carprog

I was able to clear crash data from ? 2007 vw module with secured 908 inside by connecting 3 wires and Also megane/Clio 908 works good r/w is good and display the right milleage.

Week ago i do grand punto 2008 with carprog via obd, i use a1 and fiat adaper (from carprog clone package). With original carprog. If you not plug this adapter you dont have comunication with dash.

I have tried around a 2010 vw caddy with 908 micro using k-line but won't establish connection . Used it on a Audi tt on k-line no problem... How would the wire up be for the direct approach... This perticular model isn't in the list of modules supported but neither was the TT.. but repaired it just fine from the 65535 error... This is only a spare module so no worries if it dies...

you can try, i don`t use this particular tool, but have Smok and AVDI, and they work in newer cars ( mostly in dashboards with 9s12z mcu`s ).

Yours have HC11, can be done with motorola programmer

Crash eraser on early airbags, mcu or eprom reading others. OPEL OJ66D HC08 not good with clone carprog, direct connections. Just ordered a new interface.

Read EWS 2 from a BMW and it read it well,but when it came to programming the transponder chip i keep getting "antena not connected'',but if i read a 93c66 from a toyota hilux i can read the new chip with the same antena and program it to the dump and works ok.
I think something is wrong with BMW key programming.
