carsoft vs bmw scanner

im thinking to buy scan tool for advaced function ,like coding changing used moduals,activating DRL etc.need to know your guys opion on them what is better for coding,odd and rewrtieing vin etc.any input would be appricated thanks

Last time I did this I used a modified 'standard' kkl cable (vagcom serial I think) and a combination of std BMW tools (NCSExpert etc.) but what made it super easy doors was a FREE thingy called NCS Dummy. It's on the BMW forums and fora. Also google for BMW coding, there are some very dedicated beemer fans out there looking at this stuff.
