Ohh, meant to ask, i need to make sure iam doing this properley so that people arent able to steal my wireless connection.

Can someone confirm for me how exactly to change the username and/or password so that people trying thier luck wont be able to hack into my connection, i have username and password already set but they are just the default ones which are obviously no good, just wanting to make sure iam doing this correctly if someone can give me a rundown on what to do please, thanks.

The username and password only protect the router settings so no one can change them, but it wont protect the wireless and people piggy backing your bandwidth. You need to also secure the network.

To secure your network you need to go to wireless settings in the router page. Best to choose WPA-PSK and put in a passphrase, anyone connecting to the network after you apply will need to enter the passphrase (including you). Once you put it in once it wont ask for it again.
