I have this e39 535i 1997 year
ECU is 1.429.884 hw6 sw30 bosch nr is 0 261 203 474
EWS2 mcu is demaged , I found other ews, make transponder but can't sync ews/dme with bmwscanner or inpa (inpa has option for ews3 only)
In ecu I not see any eeprom or eprom to make sync... so can someone explain must make ecu virgin or this older ecu type no need?
In dme error is:
RESULT: 1 errors in error memory !
-------------------------------------------------------------
39 EWS Datenuebertragungsfehler, Botschaft (Code, Parity) falsch
Error frequency : 1
Logistic counter: 80

I mean Pasoft bmw scan 136
Do I need to virginize ecu or not?
You saing autoboss can sync ews2?
I not have,,, GT1 not know how to do it...b ut first MUST know is ecu must be virginized first, because ews and ecu not from same car

Google translate for error in ecu:
Data communication error, message (code, parity) wrongly

IIRC you can use inpa to read ISN from engine ecu and then write ISN into EWS2.

yes, before all friend also told me that ews2 no need ecu virginized, need only to make sync dme/ews
Tommorow will try with GT1 on virtual machine with simply K line interface, hope will work.
INPA has option for ews3 sync only....

What Im wrong? That ews2 ecus not need virginize. Or that Inpa 5.0 can sync ews2?

When you go to GT1->Coding Programming it has an option EWS/DME alignment.

Ok, I found where to sync in gt1.
And I see ews2 has isn (I see on ews2 emulator pdf manual)
But, is this ecu has isn and must virginize and how?

This ecu has isn inside (not rolling table), and you can readout ISN.
I do this with Inpa / press indentification button (i think)

We use Sync procedure when Ecu (DME) uses rolling table.

Hi

Put FF FF (erase all map from MCU) in EWS, put in the car, and algin with inpa. Read eeprom again end you see isn number from engaine ECU in EWS!!!!!!. Now put ISN in your org map and algin again and done! No need to reading anything from ECU. Workig in all ecu`s. Tested many times.

Please clearify me this. I will try to read ISN from ecu, if I get what then, how to write that isn in ews, via INPA?

Also tell me where to find those maps in ews....

Tnx

You must use programmer to read hc11e9 from ews.
Step by step:
- read eeprom from mcu and save
- now erase eeprom(put all FF) and plug into car
- sync DME-EWS with gt1 or inpa
- read EWS mcu
- you be able to see isn number in offsets 1EB and 1EC
- put isn number into orginal hex dump in offsets 1EB and 1EC
- write in EWS mcu and plug into car
- sync DME-EWS with gt1 or inpa
- and done
