Ok, I'm asking for suggestions, preferably based on experience, for the best HD satellite receiver box for around ?150.
I am new to this, I currently only have a $ky dish and a borrowed TM-5400 CI+ usb.
No doubt I will soon get addicted and after a while have to get a larger, motorised dish, but for now I would realy appreciate your ideas!
Cheers.

I think blade was out first, support better on Blade than TM.
New Eagle 800HD/Mini only ?80+ excellent pic quality and media player is the biz.

Excellent stuff guys, thanks for that, pretty unanimous result! Do keep suggestions coming though.
I dont think you can name shops on here, but when I purchase, I would like to in a 'real' shop rather than online, can you PM me ideas on that?
Cheers

The openbox s9/s10/s11 all do a good job, and cost slightly more than a 1/3 the cost of a blade box.
Openbox gets lots of updates too. Much cheaper. Blade has slightly better interface and better features but nothing drastic.

Openbox S9 around ?55, only poor side of it is epg apart from that super little receiver.

I'd echo the posts above, you can't go wrong with a Blade BM7000s. So simple, easy to use and it just works!
Of course, if you feel more adventurous and are good at using computers (FTP etc), perhaps a clone DM box will be something to consider.

its not like a dreambox open source linux os

if its just to watch sat tv in good hd quality the blade is the box to go for if you are lookin a box to play with for hobbie and learn loads dm800 se

Blade 7000s. Its easy to set up and very user friendly. You wouldnt need to update it via internet, just load up the firmware off a usb or HDD.
