Hi all,

Apologies if this has been covered somewhere, I have been looking for 2 days and found nothing.

I have softmodded a Wii 4.3E using modmii. Put in all the information and the program generated the usual stuff. Copied the
SD files to the SD card and the usb files to the USB stick.

All went well with the SD card, everything installed correctly on the Wii and I followed all the install instructions correctly. The problem I have is when i try to use uloader to access the games on the USB stick, get the message 'please connect USB drive'. I have tried a number of different hard drives formatted as FAT32 or WFPS and always the same message. Any ideas?

cheers

modmii dont give you the option of downloading uloader for fat32 drives it downloads wiiflow or usbloadergx try one of those there better anyway. also make sure its in the correct usb port if its lying down its the bottom one .

I'm sure the icon on the wii says uloader, could be usb loader. I'll check it out later.

It is the correct port, port 0

cheers for the reply.

NB: Sorry, USB Loader

If your on 4.3 I don't know why your bothering with Uloader as it was one of the first used. If I were you I would stick with USB Loader GX there are more tweaks for games using that loader than the others.

If depends if your Wii is vertical or flat its the USB port nearest the edge, it won't work on the other one.

Oh you won't get many games on a USB stick so start looking for a mains powered USB hard drive.

I see you've corrected it to USB Loader now, so are you using USB Loader GX, CFG USB Loader or WiiFlow?

CFG USB Loader.

I have noticed looking around today that someone removed the SD card from the Wii while in the homebrew channel then it seemed to work. Could it be a conflict where the usb loader is on the SD card and the USB drive? When you remove the SD card the homebrew app then looks at the correctly configured USB loader on the USB drive? Just a thought

cheers

If you run HBC then remove the SD card all the apps on the SD card disappear and you just see the bubbles, push the SD card back in and they appear again.

if your going to be using a usb stick dont bother with any files on the stick your going to need as much space as you can get just use the sd card files reformat the usb stick to fat32 then use Digital Kaos - Downloads - Wii backup manager 0.4.0 build 65 (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/wii-backup-manager-0-4-0-build-65-1853/) to install any backups you want

I can appreciate using a USB stick to see if things work ok but they are totally useless for storing games due to their size. Find yourself a USB Compatable Hard Drive (http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-faqs-guides-tutorials-only/36504-usb-compatibility-list.html), preferably mains powered.

Cheers lads, all up and running using USB Loader GX. I was just trying to get it to work with the usb pen drive, I have a 500Mb external drive for the games.

Thanks for the help, much appreciated.
