Due to an old post of mine on this subject, I frequently get PM's from frantic people with TU's not working at the worst possible time. So here's a quick, no cost fix to ???SYNC???

(If your TU shows RESET (mostly because someone pressed 0 when the TU was starting up), then you must do ic111 & ic112.)

If your TU shows ??SYNC??, then do this:

Take an old SD RAM card, remove it's 24c02 and replace your CPU Boards 24c02 with it. Just like that. No writing dumps, nothing. Just de-solder both of them and re-solder one of them.

Dont ask me why or how, all I know is it just works 100%. I discovered it out of desperation after getting ???SYNC??? half way thru a job long time ago.

Yep, its a good piece of SW.

Anything from B.P. has to be good. I'm sure he not gonna waste his skills or time on rubbish software

They are 29F040 Eeprom/ Flash chips, same as most BIOS chips on pc motherboards: HowStuffWorks "How ROM Works" (http://computer.howstuffworks.com/rom5.htm)

You gonna need a universal programmer :

Hi, it's the Red motherboard to tacho universal without the PIC? I was RESET and after recording to me long before it comes on the display and the display is falling apart.

No such thing as "Reliability" with china man tools mate, always risky, but the choice is yours.

I think you have to worry more about your soldering skills NEC works fine with TU.

Renault Megan SCENIC 1999-2003 Sagem NEC

Reads and write in MILES.

Needles are REMOVED note positions at rest with IGN on.

1. Pull speaker covers off, held with clips.
2. Remove 2 x T20 holding full dash panel, pull out held by clips.
3. Remove 3 x T20 holding cluster, 2 plugs to rear, lift out.
4. Remove 8 x T8 from back of cluster. Lift rear screw frame off.
5. Lift lens and BLACK surround off.
6. Remove needles, use pry bar DO NOT twist and pull.
7. Remove PCB.
8. DF picture Renault Sagem NEC for wire up.
9. Power BOX up, plug board in without rainbow colour cable attached,
Then - NEC/OK//now proceed.
10. Program : Megan/OK. Box will Verify and save. Un-plug DF box. Check DATA set on digasuite, if ok plug in and start programming again.
11. Program : Megan/Saved Megan/Old Value/New Value in MILES.
12. Remove clear lens from black surround, rebuild cluster.
13. Fit into vehicle, ign on, REFIT NEEDLES,

NOTE : Item 10, it is not necessary to check the data just advisable.

A lot of the clone dongles don't work but I tried mine clone tacho with an original dongle and it worked fine
It's the dongle not the tacho
