Right rumor has it - EEPROM by xprog is a small part of it.
than can be edited

BDM is everything.

Bit like you have a MASSIVE map f your country including your town.

OR you just have a street map of your town

Can you explain more?

1.
Do you mean whats the difference between reading the ecu through the BDM port with xprog programmer and BDM programmer.

2.
Do you mean whats the difference between reading the eeprom directly with xprog-m and reading the eeprom through the BDM port on the ecu with xprog-m?

You can use xprog to read eeprom via BDM port indirect or you can desolder SO8 eeprom and read it direct on xprog programmer port.In booth cases you get the same content (two different ways and the same result in the end)
