2001 Peugeot 206 Diesel 1.9 glow plug light

When I try to start the car no glow plug light showing on the dash and in the middle info showing ECU MOD.

Car will not start, I have checked glow plug relay, fuses, all ok.

I have replaced a new ECU still same problem.

Any clue to what the problem can be.

Thanks for your time.

Put the old ecu back. The replacement will not work.
Then read the fault codes and/or try the spare key.

I Agree with Oldford's post.........2001 It has a 16 pin plug and that would be the first option to Diagnose for any fault codes.......

What's Engine Code.........?

If its DW8B/L4- WJY Than it has a Engine Control Relay which is located near ECU Unit..........It powers up few things and the Glow Plug is one of them..........Do you have communication with Engine ECU..........? If NO then try replacing this relay............

And if its WW8B/L3- WJY than check this things.........

1) Check Fuse F24 its 5 amp which powers up Glow Plug Relay K22..........It also powers up the Immobiliser Relay one or the other way.............

2) Fuse F26 is powering up Relay K275 Which is Immobiliser Relay.....it also powers up the Crank Shaft Sensor...........

For more info look on AD...........

Any chance of a photo?

Or is this the 'same' car with the diesel solenoid?

If you crank and crank do you get exhaust smoke out of it?

If the TU engine, nice bolt on side of manifold for glow worms

Meat-Head yes same car with the diesel solenoid, I managed to cut the cover and replaced new solenoid but the car did not start, and no communication with the OBD connection.

Ashraf6119 was spot-on; the culprit was engine control relay.

Thank you for your expertise. I truly appreciate the help mates.

in that case it's a Lucas DCN2 - the ecu just does advance, retard, GLOW WORMS control, egr.

Will run without the ecu DO NOT RUN WITH OUT ECU - it's on FULL ADVANCE - that BRILLANT CLATTER< CLATTER, diesel knock.

1) Do you get exhaust smoke?

a= YES
b= NO

a= Feed glow plugs with direct battery feed - the wire you HAD to disconnect
on side of manifold

b= Unscrew the plunger, remove the little 'black core' - stick plunger in

Connect a piece of string to the little lever on the end of the pump
Tell cosomer, to pull string when he/she wishes to stop the engine.

*THINK* on the fuel filter housing is a 'little round button' push this like a retard - it's the fuel primer
