ok guys need some help my laptop recently started to play up when i powered it on it boots up goes to xp loading page then reboots it self. was unable to start up in safe mode normal mode etc etc. i took hdd out connected to my other laptop via adapter it showed up in my computer but when i tried to open it to preform disk error check it kept failing to open. so i had a copy of xp so i started again doing complete fresh install, and everything works fine apart from i have lost sound when i go to device manager it says that my multimedia controller network controller usb contoller and video controller have no drivers (code 28). my question how do i get these drivers i have no back up disks for these (i know stupid newbie) please help

Try a search pn the manufacturer of your laptop, best place to get them from.

Look at the pc manufacturers website for drivers as GJ said, you could also try installing generic sound card drivers.

There is also a universal drivers disc on the net you could download, this has about 500,000 drivers and should have what you need for XP.

Once you get it fixed, it may be a sensible idea to use the likes of driver genuis to back up all you drivers for future reference.
