1996 SEAT slip ring problem

hi all

just scanned a 96 seat corboda
the immob has a 1128 pickup coil error code

i unplugged the key reader around the key and still ahd same error after i cleared it
do these commonly play up or might it be the immob unit
im thinking so far its a faulty pickup coil

im just going to see how much they are from a vw parts dealer or even see if i can get one from ebay but i need one quick

hope this fixes problem
