Wow,thanks a million for taking the time to type all this info,it means a lot here.now i can check my supplies and ground connections,and yes mine is N46 engine 318i.
My ecu just has 2 plugs.

No problems, I just copied and paste from my WDS. Finding your model and eng. was longer !

Yes there is 2 big plugs but inside they have 3 and/or 4 connectors. Check colors and numbers of pins to confirm position. See the attached jpeg
