Hi all

I have a problem with Opel engine 2.0dti, Y20DTH, MY 2000 with pump vp44. DTC with OP-COM in ecu and in psg

Control Unit: 2000_Engine_Y 20 DTH
P1220 - Critical system malfunction 1 (refer to checking procedure: trouble code description)
(0A) - Not present

Control Unit: Special_Opel_DIESEL PUMP_PSG5
Total number of fault codes: 3
87 - Timing device control, permanent control deviation
Present
89 - Injection begin, error
Present
9 - Unknown DTC
Present

I tried the standard things like new overflow hoses, new fuel filter, bleeding, connected pump only to the external bottle, later repair the pump, the result still the same. start is longer than normal idle normal operation, but in increased engine speed, the mill turns, and the engine has a jerky operation with high smoke and without power. after speed reduction to idle mill off. have you some idea?as for exaple, change rottary angle sensor, etc. ...

thank you

I have exact problem, exact P1220 code with my Astra G 2.0 DI 16V. Last year injection pump was repaired, ECU was replaced with new one. I paid 500 euro's.
Now again this problem is with injection pump, but this time is mechanic in pump.
Good repair is only possible in specialized diesel Bosch service. 400-500 euro's again.

For mechanic repair may be 1000 euro.I dont think pump body can be repared. After changing the pump electronic, chek fuel, oil, fuel filter and all things compared with fuel !

Hi all
Thank you for your advice.all dtc in ecu and psg5 removed, the mill is off, engine starts and run is improved, not stop, smoke decreased, but still respond to the accelerator pedal is not good. at cca 1250 rpm, it looks as if the engine had a "momentary blackouts" and engine speed oscillate +- 100rpm, engine has a bad reaction to changes in accelerator position, engine responds well over 3000rpm.

any other ideas?
Thanks all for your time

You have to repair and replace the pump. The pump module was already repaired?
Best regards
