i have a quad port lnb pointing to astra 28.2 east. 2 cables go into a diseq switch and the other 2 go into another diseq switch. a cable then runs from each diseq switch into 2 seperate comp receivers which are pvr ready.
now the problem i have is that neither receiver allows me to watch one channel wilst recording another channel even though the receivers are capable - opticum 9600 prima ts and a opticum x703
is my cabling correct or have i done soemthing wrong? do the cables from the lnb have to be in specific ports and the same with the diseq switchs?

You cant send 2 feeds into a diseqc switch and then down 1 cable and expect to be able to wacth one channel and record another, A diseqc swict isjust that it lets you switch between ports whether there are 2/4/8/16 ports.
you would be better just attaching 1 feed each directly from the dish into both of your receivers. So then you can watch one channel say on the 9600 and record a different channel on the 403.
Get rid of the diseqc switches unless your going to add other lnbs for different satellites.

As above, you dont need the switches, run feeds straight from the LNB to the boxes.

let me ask it another way.
if i want astra and hotbird going to the one receivier and be able to record one satellite channel whilst looking at another satellite channel how do i achieve this and how many/where do i run the cables?
i assume i will need to change my receiver?
thanks

You will need a twin tuner receiver 1 feed from 28.2 to Tuner A and 1 feed from Hotbird to Tuner B this will then let you record from either 28.2 or 13*? while watching a different channel on the other sat.

2 Author! Get additional 2 DiseqCs and connect all your wires like in attached diagram. If you are going to extend numbers of LNBs in the future than better use 1/4 DiseqCs instead of 1/2 as shown on diagram.
