have you checked the signal with a proper meter as the signal
for viasat is very weak here in the uk the further west you are the weaker the signal the transponders are vertical and i have a 1m dish in east wales with a inverto black ultra and i am only recieving about 50% but not having any problems it sounds like your dish is out or there may be water getting into your cable....remember to check the vertical channels 11747 v 27500

fairplay if u get 100% on hd viasat i get about 80% and i thought that was brilliant

100% on anything satellite is nigh on impossible lol.

Try changing lnb to Technomate gold .1db

I had problems with the black ultra & changed to technomate
gold, & found the picture stays on better.

You won't see any difference in the signal bars but at least the picture stays on more than the Black Ultra does.

This is just my experiences & generally the Black Ultra is very good.
But i have found the Technomates more reliable overall.

i have just changed to the black ultra and it has enhanced my signal on viasat by 22%

the 1.2m dish what make is it, and just curious is this a pub install i have seen a few lately where they changed from a Triax 1.1m to those cheap nasty ass CDtronix 1.2's that are pretty much useless.

The HD channel should cope better as its always around 10% stronger than the SD counterpart

Maybe i had a bad batch of Black Ultra's.

its on a pub and the transponder is 12456 h and yes i have used a decent metre and the signal is booming in at the dish when i say 100% thats on the quality the signal is 86db
and yes its a triax dish and i meant 1.1 m typo with 1.2 lol

spoke to my supplier and he has said that a few people have had issues with the black ultra and box not getting on lol his words
Hes told me to try a technomate gold so just ordered one be here monday so we will see ,
Also every other channels is on perfect apart from the prem hd channel wont even come on , think i will go and get the box tomorrow and stick it on my dish at home and see if that works

have you compared tuner of Vu ultimo with DM800se In terms of sensitivity
what are your Vu ultimo SNR readings In V pol transponders of nordic beam on 4.8E say 12.092V, 12.437V, 12476V

Just going of the SNR margin for the box itself i get 67% on 12.092V on ultimo and only 57% on DM800se and on 12476V i get 73% on the ultimo and around 64% on the Dm800se 12437V is unavailable for me.

The Dm800se is a clone so have no idea if an official one would give better readings

Hope this helps

Yes its a standard 40mm collar and most dishes these days are 40mm fit anyway so just swap it over

If you spend time and using a good meter you can get 100%. ( not always possible to spend ages on this )

I spent time and changed the angle of the lnb ( a few times ) and i got 100% V and 100% H all be on the quality but have never had any issues.
This was on a 1.1 metre dish.

Best to agree to disagree here I think.

I was just about to comment that if your getting 100% AGC and 100% SNR not from a meter but from an actual receiver on the 4.8? Nordic beam then your either Located in sweden and or norway, Cause i cant get anywhere near those figures on a Triax 1.1 or a Gibby 1m on a bigger dish yes but not the 2 i mentioned, If your nearer the east coast then your figures should be in the 90's on that size of dish

the signals your talking about are only relative to the equipment your using to measure them i would be more interested in your gain and mer levels. using a dreambox you could get readings like this from badr usin a squarial:sleep:

I got the new tm gold quad lnb yesterday changed it over and the channel is now working , and all levels are correct ,
brought the old black ultra lnb and stuck it on my own dish and same issue no prem Hd so defo the lnb is faulty ,

Agreed, and the Gibby is much better than triax as well

Here we go again the same pub has called me out today and says since in changed the lnb the other week its been perfect in all weathers but around 2pm today the prem league hd is showing no signal its has been raining but only fine drizzel so thats not gonna efect it also its still not come back on after the rain has stopped all the other channels are working perfect
think i will go and pick the box up and bring it back to mine and try it on my dish to see if its a tuner issue
