2000 Vito 110 CDI huntung at 4000 rpm

Hello DK,

2000 Vito 110 CDI engine hunts at 4000 rpm, (rpm goes up and down). This can only be noticed when car is in neutral. When driving, all is normal because transmission upshifts before 4000 rpm.

Please suggest how to check this problem.

In mercedes vehicles its a security system
So people dont over rev the engines wen stopped.
Way the hell would you do such a thing.

I am able to compare because I have 2 Vitos in our workshop. Both are exactly the same model. One is okay, and the other unit hunts at 4000 rpm.

By the way, are are no DTCs.

Hi,
Ceck presure regulator valve or high presure pump,
Presure regulator valve had 2 o-ring and i think one ( white teflon) is used

HI DONT CHECK ENY,,,,, this is normal.if you put first gear and again neutral will rpm more.this is no foult...
