If the old Wiimc used to work ok before you did an update put the orignal back on the SD card.

Thats one update I've never done in the app as I don't use it really even though I do have the Forwarder channel on the Wii menu.

Hi KeithUk,
I was hoping you'd reply !
I tried putting an old version back into the apps folder but when i went back into wiimc the "update available" pop-up was there and the wiimotes still wouldn't work, so i couldn't decline the update. I'll disconnect the wifi but the wiimotes not working has me stumped!
As a matter of interest, what app do you use to play movies ?

Well its strange its making you do an update.

So your remotes work ok apart from WiiMC?

I shall have to try my WiiMC 1.2.0 to see if it forces an update.

Sorry I don't use the Wii for play DVD's as they are poor controls I just use my DVD player. There is MPlayer CE (http://wiibrew.org/wiki/MPlayer_CE) if you want to try that one?

A few weeks ago I added some games to my friends drive. I plugged it in but the remotes wouldn't work. I tried to resync them but he has chargeable batteries which are part of the battery cover so we had to find some more spare batteries but it still wouldn't sync.

My friend had poped out for some beers when he came back I said the remotes aren't syncing. He just unplugged the power cable and waited a few seconds and plugged it back in and it synced ok.

Last weekend he said the remotes aren't working again he unplugged the cable again but they still would sync. He even bought an new sensor bar of eBay ?2.50 and that didn't cure it. I bought the console and a remote over to my house. I plugged it in and synced my remote and it worked perfectly. I put some of my rechargeable batteries in his remote and it synced ok. When I took it back it synced ok.

I Googled for this problem but not much showed up. Users were holding down both sync buttons for 20 minutes and their fingers were arching but they still wouldn't sync. You only need to press them both for a second.

Other sites were saying if you're not using your Wii unplug it as its like a mechanical device its wearing all the time its in use, obviously only the DVD player is spinning. They also say don't leave game discs sitting in it all the time if your not using them as that effects certain operations.

His Wii is always on 24\7, not anymore.

Ok I've run my WiiMC 1.2.0 and it said there is an update available the options were update now or update later I updated it to 1.2.2. It did a restart and the remote still worked

I'm not sure why your remote doesn't work with WiiMC?

re-installed old version last night and the wiimote came back to life. performed the update just to see what would happen - restarted and all ok ! Dunno what was going on ! I didn't do anything different from a few days ago so the problem seems intermittent.
I read on another site about wiimotes purchased after Nov 2011 giving problems while trying to work with homebrew apps so that must be it.
I installed Mplayer CE as a back-up to WiiMC but it doesn't have the same ease of use so I'll stick with WiiMC for as long as I can.

Thanks for your replies & sorry for wasting your time.

Don't worry your not wasting our time if you have a problem thats what forums are for, I'm glad its working ok for you now.

When I installed the Mplayer CE Forwarder channel it shows but it doesn't work it just locks up, not that I'm that bothered as I don't use it.
