VAG EDC17 - vin number

Hi,

I have byteshooter (full), I have a problem with changing the VIN on EDC17. I read EEPROM, change the VIN everywhere by WINHEX and write again. The car work two days and died. VCDS shows ECU damaged ( DTC = EEPROM Chks error... ). Please help me.

I read full EEPROM with BOOT-MODE. How to calculate the Checksum?

write the modified eeprom and read it again if they say the difference...... if you are the differences bytesooter automatically cks if you do not need to convert them to another program

I know, that Magpro X17 module can calculate chksum in eeprom... I don't have that update, so I can't help sorry.
