New to this.
Ive downloaded GTrom 4.00 & Crypstar v1.5.
I'm trying to load the bin file for the first time as a friend used to do it for me.
Ive tried all 4 ports but loading wont go past 0% and "FLASH UPDATE FAIL..." keeps popping up.

Should the sview box be plugged in but switched off whilst flashing?
Under file type should APP FILE ONLY be highlighted?
Baud rate shows 115200 STB shows GCR 3510.
The Bin file was unzipped using VLC, if this info is of any help.

Hi Big fella.

I have tried flashing with the unit on standby. Do you think the problem could be that the crypstar bin file was unzipped automatically by VLC media player. It shows as a orange and white stripe cone

Sorry for starting a new thread.

It was a com port issue. I have now succesfully downloaded the update, BUT, the system information still shows APIver : 4.00e_E Boot ver 7.0 7 Jun 2007
Is this correct?
The set top box was showing the % as I downloaded.

The system info will remain the same its only a patch. Make sure your key emu is on. If it still wont update press the default key and exit to Sly Sports 1 if in the UK or Sly Channel 2 if in Ireland.
