i tried to program with usb link which is j2534 compatible and a choice in the drop down menu.

however when it say "turn key off and hit next" it then says "failed to locate device"

I tried v7 and v5, I ran calibration update manager

what connector are you using to flash ecms? a link would be great.

I got one of these coming

MINI VCI FOR TOYOTA TIS Techstream V5.00.028 | eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/MINI-VCI-TOYOTA-TIS-Techstream-V5-00-028-/170779336853?pt=Motors_Automotive_Tools&vxp=mtr&hash=item27c33de095)

I have the usb link as well. What adapter are you using? Is it the same one as the Isuzu?

I use the nexiq usb link w/448013 (the same one I use for Isuzu and Hino)

I can do all testing, codes and communicate with all modules.

I got my new MVCI toyota adapter today and it goes further than the nexiq did, it gets to the point where is says "turn off 10 seconds" then it says "turn key on, open hood and hit next" then it says "unable to enter programming mode", is there something can do before I suck it up and get the dealer to flash the ECM?

The new MVCI adapter works fine for pulling codes and scan data.
