Hello everybody!

I have never heared about this mobile network until I joined to this forum. I saw that some of you are advertising it, and I would like to ask if it worth to move to this company or not. I mean if the signal later will be good or weak, if the internet quality is good and so on...

I am now with Three, with 10 pounds per month I have 100 UK minutes, 3000 SMS and 500Mb of internet. And with this company would be for the same price 250 UK minutes, and SMS and internet unlimited.

For me the sMS and the Internet that I already have is enough, but the minutes are more than double!!

I would like to listen your opinions, please!

Cheers! :wavey:

if you make a lot of phone calls or send alot of texts, then its brillo-pads.. if youve got no mates like me, then its useless as you lose whatever credit you dont use

:roflmao:

For me it is the same thing, it is a pay as you go SIM, so if I don't finish the credit, I loose it. But 100 minutes I always use it, so it won't be bad few more minutes. And as I said, about internet and SMS I am fine with what I have because I don't finish them...

The mos important for me is to know about the signal quality and the internet 3G quality also.

Thanks!

But what about the quality signal. Do you have good quality signal, or in ome places it appear that there is no signal and you can only make SOS calls?

It runs on the 02 network ...

you also need a unlocked phone or a phone that will use a 02 sim should be ok ...

calls and texts to other giffgaff users are free if you top up once every 3 months only other thing worth mentioning is if you use a android phone you will probs need to enter the internet settings manually as the setting sent automatically never seem to kick in ... easy enough to do though ...

Press the Menu key
Tap Settings
Tap Wireless & networks
Tap Mobile networks
Tap Access Point Names
Tap a giffgaff APN (if there are no APNs go to 10)
Press the Menu key
Tap Delete APN
Repeat 6, 7 and 8 until no giffgaff APNs remain
Tap the Menu key
Tap New APN
Tap Name then tap the text box and enter giffgaff then tap OK
Tap APN then tap the text box and enter giffgaff.com then tap OK
Tap Username then tap the text box and enter giffgaff then tap OK
Tap Password then tap the text box and enter password then tap OK
Tap MMSC then tap the text box and enter http://mmsc.mediamessaging.co.uk:8002 then tap OK
Tap MMS proxy then tap the text box and enter 193.113.200.195 then tap OK
Tap MMS port then tap the text box and enter 8080 then tap OK
Tap MCC then tap the text box and enter 234 then tap OK
Tap MNC then tap the text box and enter 10 then tap OK
Press the Menu key
Tap Save
Tap the circle next to giffgaff so a green dot appears.
Press the Back key four times to return to the home screen.
Turn you phone off and back on again

I will see how to do. My girlfriend has a HTC Hero, and I downloades an app called APN Global, and it automatically makes all the changes selecting your mobile network, because before I was not able to do it manually!! :hmmmm2:

It runs on the o2 network so its coverage is the same as o2 which has one of the best coverage.I have never yet lost my signal and i am very happy with it.Plus if you get a iphone jailbroken you can use there internet on your laptop. They dont like you doing this so i wont explain in detail as i don't wont it stopped.lol

I mean with Three. I even called the customer service and did what they were saying me at the same time (they called me to other number to be able to do it at the same moment). And I couldn't do it.

And with this App, I didn't need to do almost nothing! I am just saying because maube someone will find it a useful app! :burnout:

But you can do it with any iPhone, can't you? I mean, you don't need to do anything special I think. If yes, would you mind to explain me in private?? :eating:

If anyone has problems with APN settings on an Android on GiffGaff, look for and download giffgaffapn app. Worked a treat for me on ZTE Blade and daughter's Samsung Galaxy Y. You also get all the SSMC shortcodes for how much credit left, how many texts etc.
