1) get, your favorite pry bar, chesel or punch.
2) Drivers side footwell, use above tool, to wrench out
3) Have a sniff, for a wet fishy smell
4) If you are unable to find any wet spots under the carpet see next step
5) go to locl fish mongers, get a haddock or a cod in a bucket of salt water
pour the bucket of salt water under the carpet, ensure the fish is fully under

Right ok, whilst your in the foot well, area - ~~~~s knows why - there is an external diode PHOTOGRAPH IT then, add the salty fishwater to it, tell the costomer dash light fault was something else, then in a months time when it comes back with brake light fault (none or permantly on can't remember) - look at the photo, and reinstate the diode.

Might be wrong, but worth a look around, might be worth popping over to the milage IN-correctioon bit, have a snoop around.

took the BCM from this min bin and it was dry as a bone, gave it a good warming with a hot air gun just in case, no better, sometimes wen switched on we have dash illumination lights with lights off or none at all lights on or off. no main beam warning light either, and the central locking locks with the button but opens straight away again. remove battery terminal for 10 mins no different.
id hate to go get a replacement unit and it no better any other suggestions.?
