BMW E38 ECU fried!, need help

Hi all, i have a friend which has a BMW E38, it stalled. So started testing all the things, and it turned out that the ecu has fried out totally. The ignition coil transistors took some real damage...

So question is can i replace the "Bosch 30021" with BU941P ? Please let me know what you think... Meanwhile i will look for what caused this problem

Try battery post/terminal and clamp they some times oxodize badly... then they heat up, build resistance, voltage drops, amps go up....
