hello, i am in need of help. got a cordoba approximately 2002 may be slightly newer, the drivers door will not open, from outside or inside, i have access to door from top only , have tried pulling the link from mech to door handle everything moves but door does not open. looks like the latch is sticking, one thing i have noticed is that the door nob/plunger does not go completely down when i lock the car by the door lock. does any one know of a way to bypass the latch on this car, thanks eeze.

your car probably has central locking and locks give alot of trouble with the electric solenoid jamming, try opening/closing with remote or key while slapping hard the front of door where lock is,we had to get new locks as they come as all in one, when you get the door open check the loom at hinges for any breaks also.

thanks for your help, it is definately the central locking system that has the problem because you can hear the motor trying to release the latch mechanism, from what i have read these seats are prone to water in the electric system problems in the doors. and by the looks of it the only solution that i have found is that you have to cut through the door with angle grinder and cut the bolt off the pillar. as it is a customers car i am going to send them to the dealers and keep my hands clean of this job. some times peace of mind is worth more than the job at hand.
