:giveup:Hi I have an Audi S3, year 2000, with a curious error,
The average fuel consumption is ????? 2.5 l / km !!!!!
The instantaneous consumption does not exceed 15.
401 Vac-Com finds no fault in the ECU.
The car runs fine.
I do not understand.

Do you mean it's reading 2.5l /100km on the display? Or it's actually using 2.5 litres every. single. kilometer? My race car does about 20l/100km and your Audi is 10x that?
If it's reading (or using) 2.5 litres per 100km that's bloody damn good :)
I suppose what I'm asking is what do you mean exactly? Is it actually using this much (or little) fuel, or just saying it is. How much (or little) fuel do you mean?

I read 2.5 litres in display but this car does 10 litres per 100km. This value is normal for this car.
Perhaps, readjusting the odometer? How?

you can try with checking channel 003(if it's possible on that car), it's fuel consumption correction, in instrument cluster, you will need security access code - 13861.
Value should be 100, maybe someone played and changed that value, although, 2.5l is little bit too much.
It's probably something else but nothing hurts to check.
You can change that value from 85 to 115.
from rosstech wiki:
Channe 003: Consumption Correction
Standard Value: 100 %
Display Range: 85...115 %
Increments: 1 %
New Adaptation Value = Old Adaptation Value * Calculated Consumption / Old Display Value

yes, but not too much difference?
From 2.5 to 10 there is more than 15%.

Solved, the problem was that the tachometer was coded as Diesel "00140" but should be Turbo Gasoline "00144":fisheye:
Thanks to all

Hi M8,
For the next time...
No faults?
Try to read live values as any good technician does!
Log a few parameters and report.
Good luck!

i am thinking its 2.5 gallons per 100 miles and not liters
per kilometers it makes more sense to me
