2001 E46 DME-EWS 318i

Quick question, original EWS3 is bad condition, I mean the socket,solder joints, and sometimes car start , and sometimes not (connection problem, then wire and box need to be shake and car start)
Customer got second hand one in better condition.
Question is , if I swap mcu's and epprom from ori to new car will start no problem or need be programmed anyway?
What is the easiest way?

Just swap HC11 (0D46J) and all will be ok.

Yes you can.

Be very carefull how you read it if the mask on the mcu is 2D47J as some of them are secured and will erase if you do it wrong.

You can safely read that mask with the K-line adapter. Very very easy :)
