I am tried to install PTT 1.12 on two different Laptops one was a panasonic toughbook cf-51 with XP Pro 32 bit with sp3 installed, the other is a 32 bit dell D630 with xp pro and sp3 installed.

The install stops because of the installer not being able to install Microsoft SQL Server 2005 SP3.

I tried a few different PTT 1.12 installations with no luck.
Anyone any ideas on how to get around this problem.

Hello,

If you have the server SQL 2008 or 2005 installed on the pc first uninstall these servers, reboot and try again.

I uninstalled the sql server and all its components, I took out the msxmx 6.0 ran tech-tool clean up tool, selected sql remove on it, and still it wont install.
I have windows fully updated., no antivirus installed, firewall off.
As I said I had a panasonic 32 bit toughbook with xp pro on it also and the same thing happened

if not install install 1.12, i prefer get 1.11 ,in dk year ago or more .and after that 1.12...maybe try twice with cleaner.that can help.

I found a virus and I hope I got rid of it. I finally installed pt 1.12 and activated it, I updated it fully and rebooted.
But when I put in the password M311331 it is asking me for a user id ??? I selected "work offline" but it still looks for a user id.

Any ideas on how to get around this block.

If you get the SQL server failed to install here is a solution.
Open the PTT instal files, mine was in the folder named "t"
Once inside look for the sql server folder, open it and run sql setup.exe from inside the folder, once installed go back to main install folder and run the ptt set up. This worked for me and I hope it works for you.

M311331 is user ID. if you cracked PTT it will never ask for password for working in offline mode.
