would someone please kindly explain to me how do the bmw ews system work ? and what is a highly recommended tool too use when programming bmw ?

i want to supply remote keys to customers. basically a second key. i would want to add the key to the bmw ews systems mainly ews3 if im not mistaken is the e46. however incase of events of lost keys i would lso want to beable to program keys for the ews 1 and 2 as well. but for now my priority is the bmw e46.
