I'm having no such problems. Are you able to download other things such as software or mp3's?

i can download anything else except torrents.. these were working fine the night before all of a sudden stopped working.. i keep getting an error ' timeout when trying to get the list of trackers '

also windows doesn't automatically open torrents files.. when i click the file i download i get the options 'find' , 'save' , 'cancel' ...i have to save them to disk and then open them with utorrent even tho the file is associated to utorrent..??

OPTIONS>PREFERENCES>BITTORRENT>PROTOCOL ENCRYPTION. Change this to forced and apply. see ehat happens then. A lot of isps, dont like the bandwidth that torrents use and they specifically look for them.if you force encryption on utorrent, it stops them showing up as torrent files. try it and see if it works for you. while you're in preferences, in the CONNECTION part, put a tick in the "randomize port each time utorrent starts" box

uTorrent working on my Virgin connection too.
If all else fails you could try another client, like maybe vuze...
It used to be called Azureus but recently had a major overhaul.
My friend loves it but a lot of peeps aren't happy with the new interface.
If you could try another PC on your connection you could find out if it's the ISP or just your own system...

VM gives ok usenet access free. news.virginmedia.com Don't carry all, but carries a few good ones including A.B.boneless. Might be worth checking out as its just a wasted service if you not useing it.

But, on the torrent side, Mines fine and am on VM.

Using VM here also and not a problem apart from their crap up speed :( Uninstall Utorrent and redownload, make sure you're not blocking the client with your firewall, also check if your port is open and receiving connections ok...

download uTorrent.

in options > preferences > Connection tick the "randomise port for each start" box.

in options > preferences > Bittorrent turn protocol encryption to "forced" and tick the legacy box.

things should be fine now, depending on your exchange virgin may have shut down access to ports 6881 to 6999
