hi all, as some of may know my HD dm800se hdmi o/p stopped working so my supplier (Ruby) said no problem, just send back the mother board only. Well packed obviously but they said NOT sent via dhl! Any advice on the best way to ship to China quicly and safely? I had thought air mail by Royal Mail? Is that good? Please any advice, hopefully there must be members who have returned kit (i hope). Cheers all.

I'll be very interested in how this turns out, also could you post back how much it cost to ship the board back.
I also hope Ruby lives up to her words.
I ordered from the company that Tony works for and have had nothing but problems, ordered back in December and they've still not sorted things out for me. Just keep on giving me the run around, latest is they've posted the parts I need now twice, been given tracking numbers which don't track and I've received nothing.
For me that's Tony and that associated company are definitely off my list, think I'll give Ruby a try next.

I buy from Tina (Yaoxcin)quite a lot, and have sent a lot of my mates to her.
I have only ever had 2 faulty boxes and 1 faulty tuner.
The se my mate had a faulty one and the 2nd was dodgy to but 3rd one was fine and she gave him a 500gb with it.
I my other mate had a faulty tuner and it cost ?10 to post back by royal mail. Took about 3weeks from date of posting.
Defo cheaper to send back the board and so far I cant recomend the support and help from them.
You just need to take it on the chin with the wait, thats why I bought a spare tuner, as its handy to have.

I hear what you're saying but I've now been waiting since December. The bulk of this has been caused by Peter who then left so the others don't seem keen on helping. So far I've spoken to Tina, then Linda and more recently Tony.
Their base answers seems to be buy another box and we'll sort out the problems but I don't need another box.

Hi
Never had problems with Tina or Tony but must agree that of late there service has gone down the pan.
If youve been waiting since Dec then thats blooming bad they should have had it sorted regardless of whose left the company or not, stick to your guns m8 if you dont need another box then why should you have to buy one just to get your other problem sorted unless they offer you a price you cant refuse but somehow I doubt you would take that up even if they did.

The full story is I ordered a dm800se in December but they shipped it with a DVB-C tuner, so I then had to return the tuner to them which cost me quite a bit. They then insisted that I purchase another box so that the replacement tuner could be sent with the box so even though I didn't need another box I went ahead and purchased a dm800hd pro. The DVB-S tuner arrived with the dm800hd pro but there was no metal bracket that's required in order to keep the tuner secure. Also the dm800hd pro they shipped to me had a non working remote and power supply.
So now they want me to order yet another box in order to fix the problems with the dm800hd pro which I ordered in order to fix problems with the dm800se.
They've also told me on no less than 3 occasions that the replacement parts have been shipped, I've waited 3 weeks each time and each time I get told must be lost in post. The last 2 times there have been tracking numbers but the tracking numbers they've supplied don't track.
Bottom line is I used to use them and recommend them to everybody but after the above they are no longer in my good books and there's no way I'm ordering a box that I don't need.

Well I thought it was bad enough initially but after reading your full story that is appalling and you should tell them in no uncertain terms.
Maybe you shoud do what southpaw has suggested or is it too late now.

Way too late for paypal I'm afraid. I feel into the "I've used them before comfort factor" and didn't think I'd have any problems in getting things sorted out but all I get from now is bull on how crap the Chinese postal service is and 3 weeks ago was supposedly the 3rd time that they posted the replacement items.
I'll contact Linda again on Monday and see what she says but I can half guess - "Chinese postal service is rubbish but it you order a new box then that will ensure that you get the replacement parts"
EDIT: Missed the bit about the credit card, I did pay via Paypal via credit card so will check with the CC company if there's anything they can do. I'll talk to Linda on Monday anyway.

Thought, I'd update this, last time I spoke to Linda I told her that I would do a charge back via my credit card on both boxes if this wasn't sorted out. She said she'd resend and guess what turns up today? A package from her with the bits I was waiting for since December, so an eventual happy ending.
What have I learnt? Don't let things drag on, I personally should have done a Paypal chargeback within 45 days as beyond that you can't but fell into the "I've used then before" trap. Always pay Paypal via your credit card as that gives you a 2nd layer of protection and that is what spurred them into action in the end, I still don't believe that they had sent the items out 2 or 3 times previously.

i had to do a charge back with my credit card company tony was messing me around for months for 2 faulty dm800s.
as soon as i got my money back tony was like sorry please send me payment back i will send you parts for the dreambox he said that his company deducted money from his salary.
so if he messes anyone around just say you will contact your credit card company and do a charge back watch how quick he sends replacements out.

This is when it all goes wrong, I've never ever had a problem with Tony and co which is why I kept on using them, things went pear shaped with my last order but some bully bot tactics and threats sorted that out for me luckily but it's still put me off from either using or recommending them now.
I think I helped to throw this thread off at a tangent, the OP mentions Ruby is his first post, it was me that had problems with Yaoxin.

Ahh right my bad!
Hope I dont have any problems with Tony. My box wont give me an IP to flash it after the standard holding down the button at the front procedure. The display is unreadable and all over the place via the scart and dvi, and to top it off the IR sensor is not working. Never had a problem with them before so giving them the benefit of the doubt and hoping to get it replaced. Only problem is sending it back is going to cost me about 40quid, and Tony is asking me to try this that and the other first.. Ive had about 30 from them so far and no my way around them inside and out - this one is gone beyond any kind of repair. The only downfalls of ordering from China is repair or replacement in this exact circumstance.. damn!

If you have a spare/same box then have you tried swapping over the front panels, could just be that that's dodgy in which case could get them to send out a new front panel, would save you posting the box back.

Exactly, a friend of a daughters cats mum etc.. I wont be bothering in the future either. Your trying to do someone a favour and you end up a) in bother with them, and b) maybe out of pocket yourself for no fault of your own at all! (apart from agreeing to hook people up.. haha)

Best way to do it is give them the details of where to purchase the box and let them order for themsleves. Box goes titz up then its not your problem and saves you any hassle.

Can't comment on 30 but I've personally ordered 4 boxes, 1 being my beloved dm800se, the rest being dm800hd cause believe it or not, nobody wants to pay the extra for the dm800se even though it's so much better than the dm800hd, IMHO.

She could be trying to blag some money from you so refuse, tell her that the item is still under warranty and she what she says?

I dont know her t&cs are I bought it through Aliexpress originally then she (ruby) took over the correspondence. Her wording was if I wanted to use UPS it was $33 perhaps there is a cheaper alternative. Thing is I need this board back, no decent tv with out it. I have got a dm800hd for now. I have invested too much time/money into sorting this. I may just bite the bullet and pay, it feels alittle like blackmail to me though, basically pay me or I dont send it back!

Eventually I got a replacement board posted with another box..basically China Sellers don't, like paying postage they will always tell you to buy another box, then combine the faulty item replacement in the same package.. So your basically paying for the postage not them...

If you order another box then it'll be shipped by DHL or equivalent. Shipping via a courier does cost them quite a lot so from what I know for a single sat box around $80 of that is the shipping cost.

I ended buying a DM800hd M tuner so they shipped my board and a new tuner back by Royal mail for ?27. The tuners sell for that on Ebay so happy to sell it and effectivley have free return for my mother board :)

After reading numerous threads on numerous boards, a lot of UK sellers dropship from China and would be in the same position as you and have to send back to China to get repaired. If you are lucky and its a tuner thats blown or a PSU you might have more chance of getting a rapid replacement off another box by the dealer, but for HDMI or Motherboard faults I bet the seller would say you have to wait
