Golf 4 1v intermintant none start

Hi,
Got dropped on with an intermitant none starting problem.

Golf 4 diesel. 1999

Customer complains that the car will not start every now and again. When this happens the key symbol on the dash flashes fast, the engine will crank for about 1 second then stop.

It does it with both keys, but its not done it to me yet. Any thoughts?

Also the left hand dial has a message "MFA 2 "

first you should diagnose to check faults and if there are instrument issues you can re-solder all dashboard plug pins
