View Full Version : Programming a used remote to a Xsara II.

Hi Guys,

This is getting more and more important as keys are wearing out on the Xsara II. cars and owners look for replacement fobs, and Citroen quotes ?150 for a new fob+programming! :rolleyes:

On these cars the the transponder is linked to the remote, so if we just put a simple transponder in the "new" key fob the car will start, but the remote will not work!

I did an old Renault with an IR fob the other day and I thought the same solution might work on these cars aswell! In the Renault I read out the dump from the original key's MCU, and copied that onto the secondhand key's MCU, and the remote worked well!

Would this solution work with these keys?

aslong as you have the chip and matched remote yes its possable to make up a new remote

I made a few pics of the components on the PCB.

There are two ICs which could be important.

As you can see on those pics, one is a Microchip E1601F, the other is a 5100B2 0106.

Which one of these two should be read out to duplicate the key?

The second chip is TDK5100, it's some kind of amplifier. First is probably one with code you looking for. Even if you get new E16-01F, I suppose you must program it first with apropriate programmer then built in to accept new code.

Anyone have found a way to use a Other Remote on a Xsara 2 ?
We only have one Remote key for the car, and 1 without remote,
and i would like to programm just a second Remote to open the Car, it must not run with the key/fob,
just the remotecontrol should be able to open.
