hi

my builder gave me a quote for materials of 1200 but i think its to much the shed is 2 and half meters by 2 and a half meters.

these are the materials he said i will need for the build.

5 pallets concrete blocks estimate 375
2 tone sand
30 bag cement
2 tone mix concrete
roof tiles
6x2 timber 14 lengths
4x4 3 meters 2 lengths
damp course 1 roll
down strap 6
felt 1 roll
8x2 1 length timber
guttering 4 lengths
5 boxes screws

could i get these materials for the shed any cheaper then 1200??

thanks

This isnt a Wooden Garden shed your having built, its a brick block walled garden building with tiled roof isnt it ???

Why dont you go on Wickes website and price all the materials up yourself..

Blimey, for such a small building, wouldnt an ordinary T&G wooden shed stood on slabs be good enough?

Apart from having far to much 6x2 there is no 4 x1 wall plate for the top of the blockwork or tilers laff to hang the roof tiles from. I mean ~~~~ me at 600 centres for the 6x2 roof timbers that makes it 4.2 m long

i had a wooden one and some **** burnt it down plus the wood was rotting away.

i want something that will last me a while and where i can put all my stuff in to.

if i had a shed, i'ld be worried about a cat getting on the roof of it because then i'ld have to throw a stone at the cat to scare it off.
what if i miss?
i could smash the shed window if i'm lucky enough to have a window in my shed.
it's not a risk i'm willing to take and i don't think any of you lot should either

You say it's 2.5m x 2.5m is that height and length of each of the 4 walls?

The roof rafters will be placed at 400 centre and if you look on the list he has put 2x 4x4 3 meters which should be 4x2 for the wall plates.

Cool idea. Thought you could easily make one yourself from some plywood and what not. Save some money that way.

ive just finishing building a shed for the dogs in my garden and it cost me no more than ?800 in materials, dont just go for the first quote, its worth getting many quotes on both builders and materials,

a pain i know but is easier on your pocket in the long run
