iDreamX has its own built in webserver. Just forward the ports on your router and you can access it anywhere by going to http://YOURIPADDRESS:PORTNUM
you can change channel and stream. Brilliantly.

@mrblue
to get a perfect recording from your dm to your pc
tools needed
vlc to get the channel url
VisualWget to record
type your dm ip in your browser
click television
click a channel
then far right click the blue square
to stream the channel
vlc will then play that channel
in vlc click tools at the top
then media infomation
you will see this
http://192.168.x.xx:8001/1:0:1:189D:7FD:2:11A0000:0:0:0:copy that and shut down vlc
open up VisualWget paste the text in
now that channel will record perfect to your pc
when finished rename it to whatever.mp4 or whatever.mpeg
get VisualWget here its free

I just saw this thread, so does this mean there is no longer no need to have to connect your dreambox to a pc to stream to and device when your away from home? which is the reason why I never went ahead with that option.

err not really. You can steam straight to the dreambox on a home network without use of a pc/mac. But it uses a lot of bandwidth, away from home on my 4mb upload connection I have never got it working. You will need very fast upload to not use a mac/pc.
Edit: and of course a very fast download the other end.
