ecu is (probably) fenix 5 - with 55 pins white connector. inside ecu i found dip mounting type m27c256b and tms374. does anyone know if tiny sweeper solution works for it? if I connect tiny sweeper to pin no 20 on m27c256b? this pin is chip enable.

i would like to load it with clock file, but no idea how to desolder this chip, because it is all in gum and it's dip type mount. other thing I am thinking - to put +5v to this chip enable pin (no. 20). what's the best solution?

thanks, lads.

i tried, but can't find solution with 27c256 memory... If someone knows working solution for this ecu - let me know... I do not imagine how to desolder this memory and read it, because it's DIP type...

thanks/

You can decode it with Renault decode tools, i use that to fenix 5 works ever time.
Or remove the gum and program the TMS374.

i do not have decode tool. but is it a chance to use a tiny sweeper for it? because to read tms... probably nightmare. and i don't know if i could do it with xpgrog m clone.

Yes m8, tiny sweeper works perfect and Reno immo tool also works perfect, no need to dig through that silicone compound, made myself that ecu with Reno immo tool ( that with ATMega 16 )
Read documentation of Reno immo tool and edifice yourself !

so tiny sweeper I connect to enable pin on 27c256? in DIP type it is pin no. 20. Am I right?

You can do Reno immo tool in a few hours, it took me 3 hours to do it on a test board, and is very useful for old Reno ecu ( cars made until 2001 ). You can do those ecus even without open the ecu case, you know better what you repair more often but i think is a good tool, price almost nothing, but you have afew hours to spare making it - i did it in half night, the next day i needed for virginising an ecu siliconed.
No big electronics experience needed for the job ( programming ATMega is the most complicated thing for a beginner but not your case )

well, I could buy this tool and not spend time on making it. just thing is, that I need to start the car as soon as possible. I know how this tool works, but i have removed a lot of silicone, so i can see m27c256b chip and tms374 chip. anyway, for now i will try to do something with tiny sweeper, just not sure if it will work for this memory. maybe feeding 5V to enable pin will help... anyway, i will let you know how it goes. or if someone knows working solution, feel free to share. Have a good day, colleagues.

There are around here some guys who tryied tiny sweeper for TMS374 and it worked, so... be confident.

i tried it also and it works, but i tried with other type of flash like 28f512. anyway, i will give a try with it.

update: so that computer was from automatic transmission. client took it and brought to me. today I went to the car, and guess what. Those past days sooo fcuked up.

so, guys, don't be so absent minded like me. White connector, flat back gummy side, looks like phenix 5 - automatic transmission ecu. engine is with black connector.
