Tried to load new key to 05 jetta, original key still works, but the copy did not. On the dash it says "immobiliser adjustment failure". Did I try to add the wrong type of key? If I re learn the original key, will the message go away?
Thanks for any help........VAG newbie........:puke:

is it a vdo cluster you need a vw canbus chip with cs in it 2005 should just be the 24c32 if the car is after 06 2006 and micronas is cdc3217g or cdc3297g the immo data is in the micronas but the keys are in the 24c32

I used sbb to learn the keys, can the problem be corrected by re learning the original key?

I used sbb to learn the keys, can the problem be corrected by re learning the original key?
you should have a immo restore function on your sbb does it make you wait for 5 mins before adding the keys, in england the 2004 vw golf and jetta have the visteon clocks with 95160 memory they just need a can chip no cs needed, then 2005 is vdo with 24c32 the tp chip needs cs in it but it is very easy to read the 24c32 to get it then may 2006 swaps to vdo exactly the same clocks but the immo data is inside the micronas chip and key data in the 24c32 this is why you need to read both memorys, once the immo data is read you can just learn the keys with the pin code
if i were you i would firstly read the ori key and your new key to see what chip it is and whether it has locked thr new chip, then identify the type of clocks and if neccesary read the data to get the cs and pin, write the key and reset the cluster

Great info, thanks! I should have known when the car would not connect with type 2 like the application chart said for 2005, the car's mfg. date was 4-2005.
The car connected with "CAN" and it was foolish of me to carry on with the key we had. I did check the chip and frequency before I tried any programming and it was 48 like the original and was not locked.
Live and learn the hard way sometimes......

Update: Used SBB to re-load original key and the failure message disappeared.
Used correct chip in second key, and all is well......thank you keygargoil!!

Hello, i know it's an old topic, but i have the same problem. I have a vw cross golf from 2006 with vdo cluster 1K0920862K, when i try to add new key i get immobilizer adjustment fail. The new keys have can tp23 a1 transponder blank. I don't have a SBB tool, i only have VCDS, Obdeleven and Obdstar VAG Pro. How can i Re-load original key with one of this tools?

When you have original key so only key learning by PIN is enough.

I have the pin code. I did that and the message disappeared, but when i try to learn new key again i get the same message. What could be the problem?

Try normal 48 transponder when it is Visteon. When Micronas you must prepare it with CS and sometimes wait after login 5-15min.

With 48 transponder have the same error. I will try to wait few minutes after login. I will post the results.

If your car is producted after 06/2006 then you need dealer key (precoded)

It's producted 04/2006, i don't think i need a precoded key, right?

Then you need precoded only for brand (VW CAN TP23). Standard 48 will not program

Do you know if a Mini Zed Bull tool can precode tp23 can transponder?

If this is your private car or friends. Contact a Locksmith with proper tools. Playing to much can make your vehicle a non starter.
If not, and you're in the business. Use your credit card, and be prepared to spend much more money to do these jobs.
If your VCDS is an original tool. I would say that is a proper tool. Its pure gold.
But if this is Micronas dash, the VCDS can not help you out here.
