How to identify PS3 BD Drive?

I have 2 PS3's, oddly enough both broken. That's not a problem, I know what is broken about each and have no problem fixing them if I can identify the correct parts. However Sony in their infinite wisdom appear to have used a number of different BD drives, which makes buying parts a lottery.

So the question is "how do you identify which model BD drive you have in your PS3?"

Any help appreciated.

Is there a serial number/model number on the drive? Cant remember as been while since i took 1 apart

Can't find anything useful to identify eithe rof them with. Just had one of the drive sin bits and the only number, apart from the one on the barcode which seems meaningless, if 97927M.
