Why not Hdi, very durable engine AFAIK.

HDi is not durable engine, you can get more power from PD without open the engine

Yes,yes, but replace and repair injectors on PD motor is very good job,i think common rail is better choice.:D

Very uncommon for PD injectors to fail

Really? I have replaced loads of them. I still think the vag 1.9 pd tdi motor is better but the psa 2.0 hdi is not a bad engine.

Badly made tunning

Most of the engines had a standard map on them. Not many of my customers have tuned cars.

That said its mostly the 2.0 tdi injectors that are most common for failing.

Yes,you right!
And PD injectors complex and expensive to repair!
why the BMW,MB,Fiat group,Japan cars and other cars not have not made PD systems!?Only ordinary diesel,or Common rail systems

The reason I say that is we used to share a Yard with a Taxi company and we did all the work on there octavia`s over the years. prob did about 3-4 million miles out of them all put together, never once did we replace an injector, but parts do fail tho. Personal Fav is the 1.9 130 pd

The pd runs higher injection pressure than gen1 cr and already has vnt control built in, vw only started using cr when it surpassed pd afaik theres more options for an uprated clutch for the vw as well. I would go with the pd in your case but the hdi is lovely to tune imo and very, very durable, very under rated engine Ive seen with genuine 400+k miles, I'm thinking of fmic and gt20s for my hdi partner van :)

I agree with above, I think the tuning market for VAG 1,9TDI is much bigger. Plenty of 3rd party upgrades available for these tried and tested, almost bullet proof engines that like eating clutches. I have seen a lot of power extracted from these with stock internals.
