vw polo 1.4 petrol swap ecu iaw 4mw

I have an ECU Magneti Marelli IAW 4MW.GP
Car is VW Polo 1.4 petrol year 2003.

I have to swap the ECU with a second hand.

Question: I have to clone the eeprom? As for Fiat (IAW 4af.xx)?
