Hi

I'm considering moving to satellite from a cable system. I've read through most of what I can find on here and have found a kit on amazon for the motorised dish etc. I think I'll also go with the DM8000HD box as well. My questions pertain to after the hardware installation.

1. I see a lot of flashing for the boxes; does this need to be done and why? Why should it be flashed rather than be used out of the box?

2. How do you pick up subs? How do you activate it - when you purchase one does it go on the same card? Is there a price list of all channels like sky movies/sports and the foreign channels for 3pm kickoffs?

Cheers.

images may come on new boxes but may not have cams inserted so its basically a fta only, some things may need ftp to put into box,and the other thing is a line which you find yourself as its a tabboo subject, google cccam for more info.
the info goes on a file in the firmware not on a card.

1) if you leave original firmware on you can only watch fta channels and may have problems with cards, so flashing with a firmware to allow various tricks is the norm

2) this is a taboo subject on this forum , and on 99% of other forums too

so google that info
