autocom 2011.3 pocket pc - install erorr

hi, i want to install it on a pocket pc with winmo 6.5 , i also tried on windows mobile emulator 5, 6.5 , same error

i put the 2 folders on sdcard (2577 and Diag)

install started from sdcard \Diag\Program Files\Diag\diag.exe

the screeshot is made on emulator, but on my wm6.5 pocket pc i get the same error.

i want to have a copy of the original card that came with autocom to see the file structure, maybe that is the problem

Just for reference did read that with emulators it has the spped of your pc cpu.


say your processer is 2.4 GHZ then the emulator becomes 2.4 GHZ - but somehow the programms can only cope with 500 mhz or whatever.

don't matter, my ppc has 624mhz, look at the install error, it's a copy files folder error

see what's in the 2577 folder.

i have been playing with satnav stuff one folder called 2577 click on it, it installs the software on the device. think it then copyies data across from the other folder.

2577 is the autorun folder, i can delete it. don't need to run software

installer: Diag\Program Files\Diag\Diag.exe
gives the error on the 1st post

the autocom selection menu (diag,obd,settings) is on Diag\Program Files\Diag2\diag2.exe

.cab only .net compact framework 2.0, with it not needed cause wm6.5 has 3.5 already installed, and sqlce cab, installed both anyway, same result

I think I had to install mine using an old version of active sync. Only problem I have is I can't get my old spv m3100 to communicate with autocom on Bluetooth I always seem to remember something about a patch for the Bluetooth stack on the device but can't find it now :(

it's not that problem . it won\t install via activesync or directly on sd-card cause it says 'No existing Cars installation on SD card!' . i think the sd-card supplied with original autocom interface has some data on it... we must get out hands on that card to see the file structure...

i repeat , it won't let you install only on sd-card, directly conected to usb or via active-sync. it's logic since the install folder is big. either way i get 'No existing Cars installation on SD card!' .

As were using Autocom on pocket PC's (ONE day) - can anybody shed light on making calgen2009 work on it - just be SOOOOO cool to fish radio outs out of thin air.

First i have installed MS activesync 4.5 and setup a partnership with my device.

Then i ran the autocom dvd and when asked for details i inputted the following ID a-710-532 and hardware key LMBZQESLFJDP

Once the installation has carried on and when the pocket pc installation started i connected my device to the pc and selected activesync from the drop down list, the installation then carries on again (copying the files to the mobile device)

Once the istallation get to the end the mobile device then shows a warning about the software is from a unknown publisher do you want to continue - click yes

Then the device says "are you ready to start installation" click yes again

Now you can click on ok on the computer while the device installs autocom then no and then done

Then the Autocom software should automatically run on the device once its finished the install

As for the cable you can get mini USB to USB A female then suppose you could use a USB a to b cable but I'm 99% sure what your thinking WONT work :D

PARTLY OFF TOPIC:-

Was thinging this

1) The pocket PC is expecting 5 volts off the computer on it's usb plug
2) The autocom is expecting 5 volts off the computer
3) Get a shat nav charger 5volts 2 amps - cut and butt
in theroey will work - but not afraid of trying it - just too lasy

so the charger is 5volts up pocket pc (kepts charged) and posers the ft232rl in autocom

ok, for some reason - go to bluetooth and connect then to autocom nothing

go to autocom - let it find the bluetooth it sort of works.

i tried all,

1. bluetooth manager -> pair autocom -> connect serial port -> run delphi -> search for bluetooth devices -> nothing

2. unpair device in bt manager -> run delphi -> search for bluetooth devices -> nothing

it sees the device bluetooth, as i enter settings in delphi, it turns on bluetooth...

OK - partly on topic:-

Tried the delphi set up - still not got it working, then ended up with some cool delphi logo as background.

to change this



Settings --> Today ---> Click the picture you want to use ----> click the check box under that that says use this picture as the background.



the top thing is the themes you can choose

also you can then chhoose a photo of a ~~~~ star, cool.

i have installed delphi cars 1.25.0 (http://europe.delphi-dso.com/downloads/private/car%20diagnostic/pda/PreviousVersion/DS100ECars.Zip) (same as autocom 2011.3)

you have to unrar that archive directly to your sd card, delete the 2577 folder (autorun), and copy my xml to device, NOT needed to run installation. it will work directly. you don't need to install the crappy wallpaper or shortcuts.

i post you the fully activated xml. you should copy it on device /Diag folder .

to start the program run :
with menu : \sdcard\Diag\Program Files\Diag2\diag2.exe
directly : \sdcard\Diag\Program Files\OBD\obd.exe

if you open the settings_cars xml file of djs its has all the keys in it i had to use serial 30250 and the bt name is if you do a scan for bluetooth devices it comes up mine is OBDII some are autocom etc etc you will see in the xml file the following

<BTNameFilter2 Value="VCI" />
<BTNameFilter3 Value="AutoCOM" />

i had to add <BTNameFilter4 Value="OBDII" />

the bluetooth address is the address of your autocom (like a network card mac address)

not sure on autocom, but i have a GPS bluetooth unit, that if i turn off the secuity in the settings it still works, or if on cell phone asks for secuirty code.

See if in settings you can turn off bluetooth secuirty.

What does it matter somebody interceping the fault codes of somebody elses car!
