Hi I have the blade media 7000s, i have firmware from Jan 2012. I have got the latest channel list from Blade online. what i am finding is that some channels appear wrong e.g. BBC 1 is actaully BBc 3. Some dont work at all e.g. Channel 4 but these can be found in the ALL Satellites group. And some like channel 5 dont work and cannot be found in all satellites even after a blind scan and an auto scan. This happens for several channels. any suggestions as to what might be wrong?

Thanks,

you would have to contact blade online to ask why their channel lists are incorrect, but dont assume that theirs will be 100% accurate or up to date as transponder changes happen frequently

I would load in a more recent list from this forum

alternatively factory reset to clear the channel list and do your own following the manual

but its easier to install one that somebody else has already uploaded onto the forum in other threads

like this one http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/f11/s-y-uk-channel-list-numbers-261478/

Thanks for the reply, have tried both channel lists but still getting the same problems. Some channels dont work at all such as Channel 5, sky sports news etc. Some channels appear with the wrong channel , e.g. BBC 2 appears as BBC Parliament.

A normal sky box works fine, the channels such as 5 appear, so I don't think anything is wrong with the dish, so could it be the box? Weird as the majority of channels FTA and Pay all work.

Any ideas?

sounds to me as if you may not have the universal lnb settings setup correctly, as those recent channel lists should be ok

check its on universal lnb 9750/10600

The dish settings i have are:

Satellite: 28.2E
Frequency: 10.715
Lnb Power: On
Lnb Type: Universal
LNB Freq: 9,750/10,600
DISEqC: Off
DISEqC Motor: Off

The settings seem ok to me?

seems to me your transponders are all up the creek, and you dont seem to realise sky sports news is scrambled in videoguard and therefore wont "work" (not without some help anyway)

bbc1 is on transponder10802H 22000

bbc2 and bbc3 are on 10773H 22000

bbc parliament is on 10788V 22000

c5 is on 10964H 22000

I suggest you scan those transponders manually and then fix your channel lists yourself as nowhere in this thread have you indicated that you have done any manual scanning or channel editing yourself

use lyngsat and kingofsat to determine correct transponders for channels

and bear in mind c5HD and sky sports news are scrambled and so wont open without the "help" I mentioned (cs or a sly card)

Hi I have the "help" (cs line). When I try to do a manual scan on 10964, the level/quality appear as red bars, so nothing is picked up. Most frequency's are fine, its just a few where they appear as red. Is there a way of fixing this?

It is on H, 22000. Level appears as 32% and quality at 30%

Have you considered a fresh install of all the latest firmware and patches then use one of the afore mentioned channel lists instead of scanning. I know for definate the 2 lists I uploaded work cause that's what I am using and the link ramjet have you is pretty reliable as well

Ok done a factory rest via the engineer boot menu. Thing that conerns me is that the firmware was still on the box, should this have not been removed? i applied your channel list after re-installing firmware (even though system info says the firmware is already there) and still geting the same problems :( One thing I have noticed is that after applying channel lists i never get the option to save to normal or default db. It just saves it, its probably un-related to my current problem but worth a mention.

no , a factory reset clears the transponders and channels on the box , not the firmware

the firmware will always stay with the one already installed

as for channel lists , you load in via usb , no saving is involved at all , loading a channel list overwrites the previous on if there, or loads into the clear space assigned for it

Ok that clears that up, but the original problem still remains :(

check you have no DECT equipment close to the box interfering with it

and try the box on another dish pointed at 28e, to rule out dish/lnb/coax cable issues (phone a friend)

Hi. It appears that your dish may be out of alignment slightly as, according to you, you get red bars. Also if you tried a blind scan and manual scan and channels are still missing this indicates to me that there may be an alignment problem.
