we are back to square one again, this is another thread now,for same ps3,why did you not put this post into thread number 3,after my post saying look in ps3 section and search for info, that way members could see what progress you are making, instead they will only see this thread, and not other ones, members are not going to jump from thread to thread,to read every post you make,to sort your problem,in thread number 2, pspmixer said.you need the logic board then you can get any other drive.i typed logic board in google and found loads of info....
in same thread cunny advised.Bare in mind tho, once u bought replacement drive ect then prob be cheaper go buy a new console and with less messing about.
i also typed in service mode ps3 in google found loads of info.
what i have been reading, does not sound an easy job,
would it not be easier do what cunny said, buy another ps3 working, seen them complete in C/C for ?119,a bit pricey but i dont have a clue about ps3,but the way i see it buying a broken ps3 then buying the parts to repair, does not look the cheaper way to do it.

so if you can keep your post for this ps3 in same thread, and say ok did this-did that and so on,you might get more help.

even i am getting confused and i know you have 4 threads going.

and now my fingers sore typing this post out.

ok sorry about the amount of threads for the same ps3 i can get info on it off google but there are broken links to files that i need i have finally received my ps3 disk drive with a logic board included as the ps3 did not have one. I have heard that you can remarry the drives so that the disk drive will work on the ps3 all I need to know is can I get into service mode without using a psp or do I need to buy a certain dongle to do the job as I have checked youtube videos and people just put in a certain usb dongle and the ps3 reboots and goes into service mode

the only way i know/ heard how to get out of service mode is buy a jailbreak dongle and get decrept files to current firmware to get out of it
i have downgraded my ps3 with a dongle and it takes you to service mode but i have succesful got out of it with a dongle
also with the dongles you can downgrade as many ps3s as you like, so you could get your moneys worth/ back if you use wisely
