hi i was waiting to softmod my wii, should i update my nintendo wii first because its never been connected to the internet? and which programs do i need ? any help would be awesome :D thank you

there should be no need to update just use Digital Kaos - Downloads - modmii 4.3.4 (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/modmii-4-3-4-1405/) to hack your wii decide if you want to play your backups from dvd or usb/hdd and tell it you want to be on 4.3 when finished modding and it will give you all the files you need

Well you may as well sort out your WiFi connection to your Wii then let it update online to 4.3 then you'll have the extra features. Then you can use LetterBomb (http://hackmii.com/2011/08/letterbomb/) to softmod it.

Now you don't say which Wii version you have but if your going to use an external hard drive then its going to be adviseable to have internet connection to download all the game pictures. The can download them individually and put them in the correct folders but this is a very long process from Wii Boxart (http://www.wiiboxart.com/pal.php)

Oh ModMii does use USB Loader GX so you'll still have to search for these files.

if the console is not on 4.3 then they can use bannerbomb
even easier that letterbomb then if they select 4.3 update in modmii they will have all the files and updates wrote for them.
