I got the log in code and all but it wont accept a key,if the ecu and cluster are not marched does this cause it to reject key learning?is this a can system key that is needed here or just a ID48 chip?

if Ecu is not matched or Ecu is immo off some VDO dashes canot accept the keys. Many times I have this problem when I swap dash on VAG cars.
P.S otherwise some lather ID48 is LCK mode, need unlock for programming for second dash

yes if no immo shut start
but sometimes ecu lost synchro whit dash immo and need match again(or replace), simply way tray login to ECU use same PIN from dash.
PS. I think you check to dash immo is no time locked ?

What is the best tool tool to check time lock,i have used my clone AD100 and it said desh lock 00,but i have locks on my ecu and transmission.The funny thing thogh is that these lock times dont seem to change even after leaving the ignition on for 30min.

best use VCDS...

tray live ignition ON for battery flat then connect jump cable and tray again.

//what about car history? key less , dash swap , start fault?

M8, i'm not a locksmith, but this dash is immo1 -1997 so therefore i think use ID13 Meganos, not ID48 (just like old Octavia).

I don't remember now, but if you go true metering block in cluster you find transponder recon and locking time. I can check tomorrow for you.

Immobilizer Generation 2

Many 2000-2001 Model Year Vehicles sold in the North American Region (NAR) have Immobilizer 2 and there are other Rest of World (RoW) Vehicles with Immobilizer 2 which started earlier than that around Model Year 1998. To identify an Immobilizer 2 Vehicle, use VCDS to Select the Instrument Cluster (or Address 25 - Immobilizer in Vehicles with a separate Immobilizer Control Module) and look in the Extra Field. You should see a 14 digit Immobilizer ID Number such as Immo-ID VWZ7Z0W0648696. There should NOT be a 17 digit VIN Number in the Extra Fields. If in doubt, check the Factory Repair Manual for your specific

looking at my vin number this is surely immo 2.

Between 1996 and 1997 use ID13.
1997 onwards use ID48.
For that reason i ask you about year

Is there tool that can do this car by immo dump?
I am not 100% on the year,but can find that out by tomorrow.

You have to use with this car Megamos ID13,you can generate ID13 image over T5 and program it or if you have a programmer you can write bytes directly over Megamos 13, this are the bytes for the 4 keys:

Key1= 20 86 9E B4 9C
Key2= 20 86 EE 6B 77
Key3= 20 86 CE 08 66
Key4= 88 88 00 00 00

Generate ID13 with a T5, write bytes of one of the keys and run the car ;)

Problem solve,ID13 programmed,and ecu was out of synch with the immo..
Thanks a million to all who chipped in with all this info,if you dont learn something everyday,its a day wasted.
