Can someone tell me the advantage of having a Dreambox 8000 400 MHz MIPS Processor chip inside it compared to a Dreambox 500 which has a 250 MHz IBM PowerPC Processor?

What im interested to know is in the future would the 400 chip be able to crack harder key codes than the 250 chip or does it not work like that?

westkill has just touched on the answer to your question, with the quicker processor you can run more applications such as bigger Images USB & PVR functions with ease, it wont as you sugested run or decrypt any more channels than the Dreambox 500, The Dreambox 500 basically uses more resources from been connected to a computer for PVR functions and special features on a smaller images, the DB8000 has more functions built in to it that need the extra horse power.

Encryption has not got to the point that serious processing power is needed (Yet) it only emulates what is been copyed from a smart card on top of a Emulator most of these are only from a few kbits to a few mbits.
