Hi
I bought a Sunray DM800HDSE recently
I have flashed the setup successfully via web with an appropriate OpenPli file and rebooted. During the reboot - it loaded some series of files and then the LCD went blank for > 30 minutes. I turned it off and on again via power switch. I can still load the OpenPli on TV and view FTA at this point
Issue :
I used FlashFXP as outlined by the guides here, I am trying to update key / scce contents
Click on Lightning arrow button
Click on Quick Connect
Connection type: FTP
Server or URL : 192.168.0.XX( the number shown on my dreambox as of now )
Port 21
User Name : root
Password : dreambox
RemotePath : left blank
Proxy Server : (defaut)
I keep getting this message :
'[R] Connecting to DM800HDSE -> IP=192.168.0.13 PORT=21 (attempt # 1)
[R] Connection failed (Connection refused)
[R] Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #2
[R] Connecting to DM800HDSE -> IP=192.168.0.13 PORT=21 (attempt # 2)
[R] Connection failed (Connection refused)
[R] Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #3
[R] Connecting to DM800HDSE -> IP=192.168.0.13 PORT=21 (attempt # 3)
[R] Connection failed (Connection refused)
[R] Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #4
[R] Connecting to DM800HDSE -> IP=192.168.0.13 PORT=21 (attempt # 4)
[R] Connection failed (Connection refused)
[R] Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #5'
I asked the seller and is clueless about the software user/password except selling the units.
if it is an issue of a different password, can I reset it and retry the FTP.
Are there other options of updating / copying scce / key contents ?
Kind regards

How to change standard ports
Well this tutorial will help you to learn how to change standard ports like Telnet default port is 23 and you can schange it for security reasons to 48 or other . And it can help you if you have two dreambox receivers. When you have two dreambox you can;t forward ports on two different ip;s and there is problem. But there is solution which can help you to resolve that problem. First and easy way is to go on Dreambox Menu > Setup > Expert Setup > Communication Setup , and in that menu you can choose port which you will use for web interface. The standard port reserved for that is 80, but you can set it to 81 or whatever number, and automaticaly you have access to bigger number of boxes in network.
This change now with changed port will looks like this :
127.0.0.1:81 ( because 80 changed to 81)
127.0.0.1 ( here you dont ned to put 80 because http is reserved for 80 port)
example:
You have two Dreambox receivers, on one Telnet port is 23 on other telnet port is 48.
1. On First receiver where telnet port was un-changed and port is 23 you will connect like telnet 127.0.0.1
2. On second receiver where you have changed telnet port 23 to 48 you will connect on it like telnet 127.0.0.1
Second way and solution to change standard ports is little bit dificult but you can try it cant hurt your box , you can set it later on defaults, or reset it.
You can make it only if you have multiboot Dream Flash plugin. In that way you need to use FTP software ( e.g Total Commander) and connect to Dreambox, enter in directory mnt/usb/images/ and than choose image in which you want to change settings and properties. Every change will work after you save it and reboot your box. Images in multiboot are identified like folders [0],[1],[2] etc. it depend about what image is first installed, second third etc. If you choose directory [0] you will see list of directoryes in that image on usb, and for changes of standard ports you need to edit file services which can be found in directory etc/ .
There you will find something like this :
ftp-data 20/tcp
ftp 21/tcp
ssh 22/tcp
ssh 22/udp
telnet 23/tcp
Because the number of ports is more bigger than this showed here you will need to find this which i have show to you, you can find it on beggining of conf file. I will show you this:
If you change ftp 21/tcp in ftp 7021/tcp you can use ftp service on port 7021 no more on 21. For telnet 23/tcp to telnet 23/7023 you will have to use now port 7023 for telnet connections etc. Editing of file services can be done by pressing on button Edit in total commander. Than on your computer will be started notepad or wordpad which you can use. I reccomand you to use Wordpad. In total commander you can choose standard editor by going on Configuration > Edit/View and press F4 and choose executable file of your editor e.g notepad.exe or wordpad.exe .After editing is finished your new config will look like this.
Example:
ftp-data 20/tcp
ftp 7021/tcp
ssh 22/tcp
ssh 22/udp
telnet 7023/tcp
Than save your config file and send it on your dm and overwrite previous on dm. If you want that all images in your dream use same config copa this file services in all image directory***8217;s. When you are finished please reboot your dreambox and with total commande try to connect on your dream like this : 192.168.100.12:7021 .You need to enable using of non-standard ports in your windows. There subscribe non-standard port 7021 for FTP. ***8221;
got this on a blog hope it helps :)

Once u completed flashing open pli image, recommended to switch off and on yr box instead of reboot command on the browser as sometime it will stuck on booting. In this image, u need to telnet to yr box and set default password dreambox manually before u can use ftp function on dreamboxedit.

Sunray 800SE, I think you read up the thread here or ask your supplier for help.
My previous methods are meant for dreambox 800se
