Hi,
My SNR seemed to have dropped so low for channels starting with frequency 11*** such as skysports 1HD 11797. Other channels including sky living and a couple of kids programs. Like i said it seems to have only affected those channels starting 11 not 12*** etc.....
I have a skybox F3 and it was all working well up until a couple of days ago living in SE england.
many thanks

To rule out an LNB problem you would have to connect another receiver do you have a spare so that you can try this first and go down the process of elimination route, Or perhaps borrow a friends

Try the sky box and see if you get a signal on those channels if you do then you know the LNB and cable are fine and its more than likely a receiver problem

i have plugged my sky hd box back in and it says on the same channels that i am having issues with on my F3 box that no satellite signal is being received such as sky living hd, sky sports 1 and sky sports 2 however on the other channels such as sky sports 3 and 4 it doesnt say no signal but says that to upgrade my subscription please call sky on etc..... that is just because i dont have the full package anymore with sky. so is the problem to do with my lnb or something?? if so how come it works on some channels but not others like sky sports and living which start with the frequency 11xxx.....

LNB or cabling , check F conectors on both ends of the cable

its the same problem on two different cables. I have two cables that run from my lnb which used to both plug into my hd box but now i have one in my F3 and one in my sky hd box and the problem is on both boxes so guess it must be an LNB problem?? we had some bad weather lately but it hasnt been too bad the last couple of days. i still dont understand why it affects some frequencies and not others and specifically the ones starting with 11xxx where as 12xxx seem ok. whatever frequency the sky intro channel 998 is on must be affected too because that channel breaks up loads whereas it never used to.
do you think i need to replace my lnb or just climb the ladder and try to adjust??
thanks for all your help.

a new sly quad lnb on flea bay is about ?6 delivered, so I would change your quad lnb and ensure both connections are good whilst up there as well
its not worth the effort of asking questions about an old lnb as they are just too cheap to buy to bother about such things
its also the only way you will know if it is the lnb or not
on a side note, test your boxes on a friends system, or a relatives system , just to ensure the boxes are ok
I do not think you will need to adjust the dish, but if you do set up on lower signal channels like the vault and vintage tv

ok, it seems to have been related to the skew of the lnb. i havent gone through all channels but seemed to have fixed the ones i was having issue with. many thanks
